My first trip to the enchanted land of Dalhousie was in August 2007. 5 friends on three motorcycles (Bajaj Pulsar 150 CC) rode from Jalandhar to Dalhousie (160 Km) in 8 hours. Reason being the road itself was so mesmerizing, we could hardly move forward continuously for 1 hour at a stretch. Jalandhar to Pathankot was a horrible ride. Roads, then, were pot holed etc. People now claim that roads have improved. Pathankot is the gateway to Dalhousie. The first glimpse of beauty was caught as we started the hill road of Mamun. As soon as we entered Himachal Pradesh we could feel the difference in the weather - the air we breathed, the greenery and off course, the dames in their traditional costumes.
The main attraction was Khajjiar. I really don't understand people claiming at all times visiting Hill Stations during Summer. Personally I Strongly believe that Hills during rains (light to medium) are at their best.
